Closet Case: Lauren Conrad's Paper Crown Fall 2012 Lookbook

Although the collection doesn't hit stores until late August, lookbook images of Lauren Conrad's high-end line, Paper Crown, have hit the internet. The line consists of predictable pieces that we've come to expect from the feminine California girl. Her looks are right on trend, but that may be her greatest downfall; it appears that an assistant wrote down a list of projected trends for fall which Conrad then interpreted literally. The color palette for the collection is as narrow in diversity as the designs, consisting of maroon, navy, black, and white. Most of the pieces are basics, and the collection is almost entirely devoid of prints or patterns. The only other criticism I have is that for a Fall/Winter collection, many of the pieces are only wearable at the beginning of fall or in the warm temperatures of LA. Now that I've pointed out all of the major flaws of the collection, I will say that this: there are three pieces in the collection that I like. I like the London Coat and Serena Leather Leggings although they are in no way original. I do, however, love the silhouette and playfulness of the Wimbledon Skirt.

What do you think of the 2012 Fall/Winter Paper Crown line... and those socks with those shoes?

  1. This has been one of those collections that we've been waiting for all summer and its finally here! It actually makes us excited for fall! We're absolutely obsessed with the London Coat and the Serena leggings, and of course the Madame Dress is simply adorable! Check it out at www.pavlyn.com
