So you have a date, huh? Movies again? Dinner? Drinks and dancing? Let's cut to the chasethere are only so many date ideas out there. And more often than not, you get into a cycle. Dates are repeated countless times and you can end up feeling like it's one big re-run after another. Endless concerts (okay, those never really get old), picnics and coffee dates and sadly, the creative juices start to ebb. But here's one date idea not yet overused: comedy shows.

Yes, it's been done before and many people still partake in them. But the idea of going to a comedy show can get lost in the back of your mind when you start planning out your Friday night excursions. And why? Everyone loves to laugh. It's like that perfect, let's de-stress-and-tell-the-world-to-shove-it date. You and your man get to spend time together while someone else sarcastically complains about all the funny things in life. Who wouldn't want to go?
Not only will you leave with a smile on your face, you'll also feel more confident. Studies show that comedy helps decrease levels of stress. Laughter really is the best medicineit gets your blood flowing and helps you feel more energized, which can be a great thing for you and your guy's mental health.

Reality check: big-time shows can get expensive. Seeing Dane Cook's hilariously horrible antics in person may be a dream come true for both of you, but unless you plan it out or have extra money to spend that weekend, it may not happen. Try searching for open-mic nights around town or stop in at various coffee shops and clubs and ask when they'll next have a comedy act.

So skip the sappy tearfest of romantic movie dates and spend the night laughing with the one you love. Your relationshipand healthwill be better for it.
