This week’s girl crush is a two for one.
These talented twins from Canada have been releasing albums
since 1999 with several big hits to their name. Not only are T and S twin
sisters and band mates, they are also great friends. The two recently released
a CD/DVD package called Get Along (now available on Netflix) which chronicles
their travels in the US and India, showcasing the strong sisterly bond between them.
Both Tegan and Sara are dedicated to their fans, taking the time to blog on their official website, frequently update their twitter and run a tumblr, not to mention the video goodies and extras that they dedicate so frequently to fans.
Possibly my favorite thing about these girls is that they
are advocates and activists for the issues that matter most to them. Both Tegan
and Sara are openly gay, and they have recently joined up with the company
Revel and Riot to design and model tee shirts promoting marriage equality and
equal rights for everyone in the LGBTQIAP community.
There’s something to like about both of these amazing women,
whether it’s their musical talent, their quirky style or their complimenting personalities.
