Happy Home: A Parisian Escape

Here's a little secret: I love Paris, but I've never been there. Okay, so maybe it's not much of a secret, but it's definitely a bummer. In high school, our French teacher was notorious for being cranky and difficult, and so I was encouraged to take German instead—a far cry from the beautiful, feminine culture and language I had dreamt about for years. Needless to say, my obsession with everything French has continued to this day. I know I'll get there someday, but until then, why not bring a little bit of Paris to your home?

Add a chandelier.
The chandelier makes this bedroom feel like the French countryside.

A pretty, elegant chandelier will add style to any room and make you feel like your miles away in glamorous "Pah-ree."You don't have to spend a fortune eitherthis cutesy chandelier is only $129 from PB Teen.

Use a vintage chair as a nightstand.

Something a little weathered-looking will give your room the right mix of old and new while keeping the mood fresh and young. Using a cushioned chair always works, too.

Invest in Eiffel Tower accessories.

Whether it's a painting of the Eiffel Tower, a miniature replica, or some fab pillows like the ones above, having a little piece of the tower in your home will definitely add a Parisian feel to your apartment. Just don't overdo itone or two here and there is plenty.

Buy yourself some teacups.
Two words: So. Cute.

Drinking tea, milk, wateranythingfrom a teacup just makes you feel so old-fashioned European. Stack a few on your counter for decoration and rotate them as you use them. Such a cute idea, don't you think?

Yes, maybe it's all a bit cliche, but that's kind of the beauty of it. Keep dreaming of beautiful sidewalk cafes and fashionable French boutiques and who knowsmaybe your dreams will come true sooner than you think.
