I'm actually a fan of the Harem pants, also known as drop crotch, trend. I love their ability to be both feminine and masculine; and, when paired with heels, they are especially chic. I've definitely seen some fashion mishaps when it comes to this trend, but I have also seen some very glamorous looks. Since they remind me of sweatpants, I personally love to see them paired with sneakers for a laid-back look.

If you're considering wearing—or already wear—harem pants, keep a few things in mind.

1. Select a delicate fabric: You want a fabric that drapes. Heavy cotton won't do. Go for something lightweight. Make sure you try the pants on before you buy.

2. Pair with a fitted top: You want a top that is cropped. Since the pants are loose-fitting up top, they need to be paired with a shirt that is fitted. You want to look polished, not sloppy.

3. Keep accessories to a minimum: Harem pants already make a bold statement. Adding too many accessories will clutter the look. A simple clutch and earrings should be just enough to finish your look.
