Earlier in the summer, I mentioned the importance of good lighting in your home. But choosing your light fixtures isn't just about attaining a pleasant atmosphere. You can use your light fixtures to add some pop to your apartment, and give your guests plenty to talk about—it's easy!

These ultra-bright orbs are the perfect addition to any bedroom. Mix and match patterns or shapes to give your room some much needed style. Round pendant lamps are really popular right now. You can find an adorable version of the ones above at Ikea.

So technically, these aren't lights by definition, but these fixtures, if used with ceiling fixtures, create such an amazing room. The delicate glass bubbles reflect light through them, causing tons of sparkly, glittering "light" throughout the entire space.

Choose light fixtures that resemble your style. Modern, vintage, DIY—whatever you decide. Adding unique lighting to your home can really accentuate the decor and work great as that perfect conversation piece.
